What’s New in Aunt Mayme’s Attic

I did some thinking recently (did anyone feel the earth move??) and came up with some ideas.  For one thing, why is it I wanted to do all lavender sachets?  I mean, maybe people are sick of lavender (although I could never be sick of it; nor gardenia, jasmine, and orange blossoms–scents of my childhood).  Why not little soaps or soap chips and lavender?

Then I did some Etsy surfing, and found a shop called Mirasol Farm.  Cute little small soap samples, just the perfect size for my sachets!  And the soaps totally vegan and organic to boot.  I’m going to use two scents for each group of sachets.  Each sachet is getting its “two scents worth”..  (I couldn’t resist…) The photo below shows one group, but with four scents, of which two of each will be in them, instead of the four different ones.

So then I thought again. (I’m on a roll, aren’t I??) What if someone would want to have the soap in a little mesh bag to hang in her closet or set in her bureau drawer and keep the little fabric envelope?  Well, I can do that too.  That’s on the agenda for today.

Next are more mini journals.  I don’t know why, but I’ve been addicted to making these lately and thankfully the strong interest is becoming less strong.  I need to move on to other stuff!  But here they are.  Aren’t they cute?  Pocket-size and made of recycled paper, the mini journal pads are from Moxie Makery, also on Etsy.

Oh, and I received a sweet review yesterday from one of my Etsy customers.  And…here’s a big thing—she gave me a suggestion for using the pencil case she bought–Makeup brush bag!!!  Yup.  You heard it here.

Now it’s time to ask something of you, my loyal onlookers.  I’m looking for some feedback on the two items I’ve inserted–the sachets and the mini journals.  So here are some questions and please answer one set for the sachets and one set for the mini journals.  I have a handy dandy form below for you to fill out;  you can post them in my blog Comments section, or if you’re a little shy, you can email me at:  aunt underscore mayme @ yahoo dot com  (I’m sure you can figure out the email, remove the spaces, insert an underline between “aunt” and “mayme” and change the word “dot” to a real dot, as in period)

Sachets:

  1. Is the photo clear?
  2. Does the photo convey the meaning of my shop and the item pictured?
  3. If you were interested, would you consider buying something like this?
  4. Do you think something like this would be useful and in what capacity?
  5. What improvements would you consider?

That makes just 10 questions; not too bad.
